Why isn't stretching the shoes enough?
Most shoe repair shops work with finished shoes, so the options for changing the fit are limited.
I first modify the shoe last, then reshape the entire upper around it. This allows me to solve bunions, asymmetry, swelling, and very wide feet in ways that simple shoe stretching cannot.
How do I know if my shoes can be transformed?
Just send me photos.
I assess every pair individually. If I don't believe the transformation will give you the result you expect, I'll tell you before I start.
What if I don't have a suitable pair of shoes?
That's not a problem.
If you don't have a suitable pair, I'll help you choose one or find a second hand pair that's suitable for the transformation.
Why does it cost less than custom made shoes?
When do I pay?
After your shoes are finished.
I'll first send you photos of the completed transformation. Once you approve the result and payment is received, I'll send your shoes back.
Can the worn sole be replaced later?
Absolutely.
After the transformation, the sole can be replaced easily, often even by a regular shoe repair shop. This helps your shoes last for many more years.
What if something needs adjusting after I start wearing them?
Our work doesn't end when I send your shoes back.
If anything needs adjusting, we'll find the right solution together.
My barefoot shoes have worn out soles. Is it worth repairing them?
If the upper is still in good condition and only the sole is worn out, the answer is often yes. I always recommend contacting the manufacturer first, as some brands offer sole replacement as part of their service.
Whenever possible, I also adapt the shoe last during the sole replacement to better match your feet. Even a favourite pair of barefoot shoes can often be improved.
The amount of work varies from pair to pair. I'll let you know the available options and the price after I assess your shoes.
My shoes have a Gore-Tex membrane. Will it still work after the transformation?
Yes.
I take great care to preserve the Gore-Tex membrane and all the other important features of your shoes.
Can almost any shoes be transformed?
The possibilities are often greater than they seem. You can see examples of transformed shoes in the gallery.
